Coral Gables | “The City Beautiful”
Established in 1925 by George Merrick, Coral Gables is one of the Nation’s first fully planned communities. Merrick’s vision was one of a community with every possible amenity near its unique residential homes while being a hub for international business. In every respect this vision has come true, Coral Gables is known as the Fine Dining capital of South Florida, it boasts one of three national landmarks, the Iconic Biltmore Hotel.
Most recently is the Miracle Mile and Giralda Avenue Streetscape where downtown Coral Gables is undergoing a pedestrian-friendly experience with outdoor garden areas, fine dining, improved lighting, public art exhibits and much more.
If you want to explore some of Coral Gables landmarks on your own, be sure to visit The Venetian Pool, The Biltmore Hotel and Fairchild Tropical Gardens. “The Building of Coral Gables has not been a thing of the moment, but a wonderful monument that will as solidly endure as does the everlasting coral upon which it is founded.” – George Merrick, 1926
